TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State volleyball team will take to the road this weekend as they face the Maryland Terrapins and Virginia Cavaliers in conference action. Florida State improved to 7-3 in conference play with a victory over 11th-ranked North Carolina on October 27th and will look to continue their winning ways on the road this weekend. The Seminoles (16-8, 7-3) will start their road trip, when they take on the Maryland Terrapins (16-10, 5-6) Saturday, November 2nd, at 3:00 p.m. and will complete the trip with a match against Virginia (7-20, 1-10) Sunday, November 3rd, at 1:00 p.m.

Florida State has turned up the heat in the ACC, winning five of their last six conference matches. The biggest win within this span was against conference leader and 11th-ranked North Carolina. Florida State currently stands in 4th place in the ACC and will look to hold steady in the race for the ACC regular season championship. Florida State has been led all season by seniors Alex Sevillano and Kristin Frye. Sevillano has 296 kills, 50 service aces and 185 digs on the season. Frye has been outstanding throughout the season for the Seminoles compiling 345 kills and a hitting percentage of .306. The Seminoles will also look to junior, setter Jen Anderson, as she has recorded 1232 assists, 20 service aces and 176 digs on the season.

Maryland, coming off a 3-0 win at home against Wake Forest earlier in the week, will look to junior outside hitter Lynnsy Jones to lead they way against the Seminoles. Florida State will have to find a way to control Jones, as she recorded a career-high 33 kills against the Seminoles earlier this season. Jones leads her Maryland club in kills with 448 and service aces with 43. The Terrapins can expect great things from senior outside hitter Carey Brennan and sophomore outside hitter Jennifer Dewalt in Saturday's match against the Seminoles. Brennan has totaled 376 kills and a hitting percentage of .285 for Maryland so far this season, while Dewalt has added 256 kills.

The Cavaliers will look to break a three-match loosing streak when they take on the Seminoles of Florida State Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Junior outside hitter Paige Davis has been the most productive for the Cavaliers this season with 269 kills, 30 service aces and 272 digs. Sophomore middle hitter Alexis Geocaris has been a force as of late for the Cavaliers. Geocaris has a total of 24 kills in the last two games and has tallied a total of 172 kills, a hitting percentage of .210 and 77 total blocks on the season.

The Seminoles will be back at home on November 8th and 9th when they host ACC rivals Georgia Tech and Clemson. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00pm in Tully Gym.
