Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team completed day one of the Seminole Invitational on Friday, April 08, 2005 at the Mike Long Track and Field Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.

Junior Kate Purcell (West Point, Pa./Southern Illinois-Edwardsville) won the javelin throw event with a mark of 127'6" (38.87m) just ahead of teammate junior Deanna Lane (Marietta, Ga./Pope) who threw 108'11" (33.19m). Freshman Erin Voss (Port Charlotte, Fla./Port Charlotte) took third in 99'5" (30.31m) while classmate Heather Leblanc (Live Oak, Fla./Suwannee) was fourth with a mark of 80'8" (24.60m).

Freshman Matt Frith (Jacksonville, Fla./Bolles) was second in the javelin with a mark of 147'7" (44.99m) and eighth in the discus in 103'8" (31.60m).
