Florida State Men's Tennis Concludes First Day Of Seminole Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State men’s tennis placed two players into the quarterfinals after the first day of the Seminole Invitational at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Sophomore Clint Bowles who is the tournament’s No. 2-seed advanced to the quarterfinals after a first round victory against Georgia Southern’s Gregory Bekkers 6-4, 6-1 and a second round win over Florida Joey Burkhardt 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(5). Senior Chris Cloer defeated FAMU’s Michael Moore 7-6(6), 6-4 in the first round and East Tennessee State’s Matej Zlatovic 6-3, 6-1 in the second round. Bowles will play Miami’s Carl Sundberg and Cloer will play No. 1 seed Austen Childs of Louisville. Both matches will be played at 10:30.
“I thought the guys did a good job to be able to come through with wins,” FSU head coach Dwayne Hultquist said. “I know both of them will have very tough matches tomorrow including Chris playing the number one seed.”
