CARY, N.C. - Top seeded Florida State (15-3-1) will faced fourth-seeded Virginia Tech (14-6-0) in the first semifinal of the 22nd ACC Women's Soccer Championship on Friday, November 6 at 5:00 p.m. inside WakeMed Park in Cary, N.C.
Boston College and North Carolina will square-off in the second semifinal scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
The Seminoles advanced into the semifinals following a 2-0 victory over Duke on Wednesday, while the Hokies defeated Wake Forest 1-0 in overtime. FSU has advanced into the semifinals of the ACC Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years and for the seventh time in school history.
The semifinal showdown between the Seminoles and the Hokies is a rematch of last year's first round match-up in which both teams played to a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of play. Virginia Tech would be the team to advance defeating the Noles 4-2 in penalty kicks.
These two schools will be very familiar with each other as they closed out the regular season schedule against one another just four days ago in Blacksburg. FSU defeated Virginia Tech 2-1 thanks to a pair of goals by 2009 ACC Offensive Player of the Year Tiffany McCarty.
Thursday was geared toward preparing for the Hokies as the Seminoles had a light workout earlier in the morning at WakeMed Park sandwiched between a morning and afternoon film session at the hotel.
FSU is unbeaten in eight prior meetings (7-0-1) against the Hokies and will look for a berth in the ACC Championship final for the fifth time in school history with a win on Friday.
Both of Friday's semifinal games will air live over the internet on ACC Select, while live stats will be available via gametracker on Seminoles.com.
