After completing a weekend packed with tough competition two Lady Seminoles were named to the All-Tournament Team of Hodwy's Pepperdine Classic. Senior Norisha Campbell and junior Kristin Frye were two of the six members named to the team, Pepperdine's Brie Harris was named the tournament MVP.
Campbell set two career highs in FSU's match against Fresno State with 29 kills as well as 59 attacks. Campbell and Alex Sevillano would tie during the match vs. Fresno State for the team lead in total attacks.
Frye would set a match high and break a career record by putting up 22 digs vs. Northern Arizona. Frye's previous best of 18 came against Texas El Paso in 2000.
Other members of the FSU squad to break or tie career records at the Pepperdine tourney included: junior Dawn Hough who tied her career high of seven block assists vs. Fresno State, Sevillano who hit a career high of 59 attacks against Fresno State and tied her career high of 17 digs vs. Fresno State, sophomore Cerina Pele hit a career high in four categories all against Fresno State in kills (6), attacks (28), digs (15), and block assists (3).
The Lady Seminoles practice on Tuesday and Wednesday before leaving for their next tournament to be held at Texas A&M, Friday, Sept. 7. The squad will first face No. 18 Texas A&M at 7:00 p.m.
