Janson Headed to Boston for "Old" Meet

Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida State women's track and field team member, senior Lacy Janson (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) is the only Seminole competing this weekend, traveling to Boston, Mass., for the 2005 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Janson, who met the meet requirement standard of 4.14m, will face some of the best pole vaulters in the nation on Saturday, February 26 in the finals at 2:30 p.m.
The meet takes place at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College from Feb. 25-27. The event is the final in the USATF's Indoor Visa Championship Series and the meet is the world's oldest indoor track championship, with the first contest held in 1888 in New York.
Janson is coming off the ACC Championships meet where she won her third indoor pole vault title and sixth league championship overall. Janson is an automatic qualifier for the NCAA National Championships, posting a then-nation leading height of 14'1.25" (4.30m) at the Gator Invitational to secure her spot at the championship meet.
