TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  - The No. 11-ranked Florida State men's tennis team will face its toughest test of the young season on Saturday, January 24 when the Seminoles host No. 2 Texas at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center at 12:00 p.m.

"Texas lost in the NCAA finals last year and returned most of their team," FSU head coach Dwayne Hultquist said.  "They're going to be a great team and I think that they will be one of the favorites to win it all."

Florida State (2-1) comes into the match after being upset 5-2 by No. 40 South Florida on Monday in Tampa, Fla.  The Seminoles hope to rebound against one of the top teams in the country.  Texas (1-0) opened its season with a 4-3 win against No. 13 Rice.  The Longhorns own a 4-0 series record against FSU including last season's 6-1 victory in Austin, Texas.  The Garnet and Gold's lone win came from Clint Bowles who defeated 36th-ranked Ed Corrie.  Bowles owns a 3-1 record against Texas' top four players during the last two seasons.

"This is the biggest match of our season by far," Bowles said.  "We're really looking forward to it and it's great that we have this match at home."

The Seminoles will look to use their home court advantage against the Longhorns.  FSU own a 30-4 record at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center since 2007 including wins against eleven ranked opponents.

"We expect to have a lot of fans out here cheering us on," Hultquist said.  "We've had a lot of success here the last couple of years and hopefully we'll have a great crowd that can help carry us on to victory.
