FSU Track Completes Thursday Amidst Rain Delays

Tallahassee, Fla. - Despite rain canceling most of the events scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2005, the Seminoles competed in a few events at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.

Junior Evelyne Cynthia Niako (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) was sixth in the 400m dash in 55.85. Sophomore Dana Massiah (Trinidad & Tobago/Bishop Aenesty) was tenth in 57.02 while junior Kim Adams (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stone Mountain) was 12th in 57.23.

In the long jump, senior Courtney Wright (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone Community) was tenth with a mark of 22'7.25" (6.89m) followed by junior Johnta Griffin (Orlando, Fla./Florida A&M) in 13th with a distance of 22'2.5" (6.77m). Sophomore Charlene Walker (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) took ninth in the women's long jump with a mark of 18'10.75" (5.76m).

The women's 4x200m relay took eighth place, behind juniors Marla Jackson (Jacksonville, Fla./Stanton College Prep), LaKendra McColumn (Lithonia, Ga./Southwest Dekalb), Niako and sophomore Devon Rich (Seminole, Fla./USF) in 1:37.84.
