Florida State Volleyball Falls To Georgia Tech In ACC Championship Match

ATLANTA, Ga. - Florida State fell to the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech in the championship match of the 2002 ACC Tournament Sunday, November 24th, by a score of 3-1 (23-30, 23-30, 30-23, 19-30) The Seminoles fall to 21-12 on the season, while the Ramblin' Wreck improves to 31-5.
Florida State was led by senior outside hitter Alex Sevillano in the loss to the Jackets. Sevillano recorded her twelfth double-double of the year, as she had 12 kills, 15 digs, one service ace, one solo block and two block assists. Junior setter Jennifer Anderson tied an ACC Tournament record as she recorded 41 assists to bring her tournament total to 179. Anderson also notched seven digs on the afternoon. All-Tournament team members Erica Bunch and Kristin Frye stepped up for the Seminoles. Bunch recorded 10 kills and four digs, while Frye had 13 kills, eight digs and two block assists.
Georgia Tech was led by ACC Tournament MVP Lynnette Moster. Moster had 15 kills nine digs, two solo blocks and two block assists. Also performing well for the Yellow Jackets was Alexandra Preiss. Preiss recorded 12 kills, four digs, three block assists and a hitting percentage of .429 against the Seminoles. Junior setter Kele Eveland looked strong, recording 38 assists and 11 digs.
