FSU Scores Early, Drops Florida In Spring Exhibition
March 24, 2008
Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida State Women's Soccer team remained unbeaten this spring as the Seminoles defeated intra-state rival Florida 2-0 Saturday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex in front of more than 500 fans. FSU registered goals from Lauren Switzer and Erika Sutton in the first 30 minutes of action to push their spring record to 2-0-1.
The match featured three 30 minute periods as all the scoring in the game came in the first period. Switzer got the Seminoles on the board early scoring off a pass from Marissa Kazbour in the first minute of the game.
Sutton increased FSU's lead to 2-0 on her first goal of the spring. The Arvada, Colo., native scored on pass from Sanna Talonen off a Seminole throw-in by freshman Jessica Price. Talonen and Price were credited with assists on the play.
The defensive effort has been spectacular through the first three games as the Seminoles have not given up a goal this spring.
Florida State will wrap-up its home exhibition schedule on Friday, April 4 at 7:00 pm as the Seminoles welcome the BYU Cougars to Tallahassee. FSU will then close out its spring schedule against UCF in Melbourne, Fla., on Saturday, April 12.
