Women's Tennis Drops ACC Opener

ATLANTA -- The Florida State women's tennis team fell to 2-3 on the season after dropping a close match to Georgia Tech 5-4 on Saturday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center in Atlanta.
On the day, the Seminoles jumped out to an early advantage taking four of the six singles matches. No. 1 Nanette Duxin defeated Christelle Ursulet 6-3, 6-2 and Ali Weber, playing No. 2 for the first time in three matches, defeated Xenia Uy in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Other Seminole singles winners were No. 4 Kia Asberg and No. 6 Sasha Hanna.
However, FSU was unable to put away the Yellow Jackets in the doubles portion of the match. Georgia Tech swept all three close doubles matches to steal the win. It marked the first time ever that Georgia Tech had defeated the FSU women's tennis team.
The Seminoles will continue with ACC play when they travel to Clemson to play the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
