The Florida State Lady Seminoles defeated the Jacksonville Dolphins tonight at Swisher Gym (30-17, 30-21, 30-19). FSU not only remains undefeated against the Dolphins, 27-0, but the squad has now hit a four game win-streak, their longest of the 2001 season. With the win FSU improves to 10-9 overall.
As a team the Lady Seminoles had a season-high hitting percentage of .449 against the Dolphins, while out blocking Jacksonville nine to one.
Senior Norisha Campbell hit .452 on the night with a match-high 20 kills, 31 attacks and three blocks. Junior Alex Sevillano had 10 kills with zero errors tallying a season-high hitting percentage of .625. Senior Elizabeth Pound saw a career-high hitting percentage of .833 with five kills, and zero errors. Pound would add four block assists and service ace to her totals against the Dolphins. Juniors Erica Bunch and Kristin Frye had match-highs in digs with 10 a piece. Sophomore setter Jennifer Anderson dished out 43 assists and finished with a career-high .750 hitting percentage.
The Dolphins were led by Alesha Rodrigues who hit .318 with 10 kills and 22 attacks. Leading the way for Jacksonville defensively was Radka Bosworth with a team-high six digs and 26 attacks.
The Lady Seminoles will be back in action this weekend as they host ACC opponent Clemson at Lucy McDaniel Arena at Tully Gym on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on Sunshine Network.
