SOPHOMORE (2016): Started all 63 games of the season, tied for the most with John Sansone…led the team in runs scored (72), walks (59), total plate appearances (311), and assists (214)…successfully credited with 14 stolen bases on 16 attempts, second only to Ben DeLuzio (15)…opened the 2016 season going 3-for-6 with two extra base hits in a 19-1 win over Rhode Island…earned a perfect 4-for-4 outing against ACC rival Pittsburgh on March 19 with four singles and a pair of runs in the Seminoles’ 10-2 victory; he went 8-for-10 in the series against Pittsburgh…responsible for smacking a walk-off single in the 11th inning against UCF on March 23 to give FSU a 5-4 win…16-game hitting streak March 9-April 8…in a 13-8 victory over Wake Forest, Walls went 3-of-4 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored after earning his first triple of the season…named to the 2016 Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award watch list, one of 54 players to be named to this list…notched his first multi-home run game of his career against FGCU on May 11…placed on the All-ACC Second Team in May…named as a First Team All-American by Baseball America in early June, one of only six players selected from the ACC and just the third FSU shortstop (Stephen Cardullo, Dick Howser) to be named a first team All-American…selected as a Third Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)…received an All-American Honorable Mention from Perfect Game…recognized by the ACC Honor Roll for student-athletes…became one of 24 players to make the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team roster in the summer of 2016…led Team USA with 14 walks and a .405 on-base percentage in 19 games over the summer.

FRESHMAN (2015): One of only two Seminoles, and the only freshman, to start all 65 games…started every game at shortstop en route to hitting .220 with 50 hits, 43 runs, four doubles and a triple in his first season…ranked second on the team in walks with 52…finished ninth nationally in walks and 25th in base on balls per game…drew multiple walks 12 times including a season-high three against Wake Forest (March 13) and at Virginia (March 22)…swiped seven of eight bases on the year – fourth most stolen bases on the team…posted a season-high three hits twice – vs. Jacksonville (Feb. 24) and UNC Wilmington (March 1)…finished the season with 14 multi-hit games…drove in a season-high two runs on three separate occasions – Boston College (March 6), UCF (March 10) and Virginia Tech (March 28)…closed out the season on a high note hitting .296 over the final nine games…hit .333 during FSU’s run to an ACC title in Durham…was named to the 2015 NCAA Tallahassee Regional All-Tournament team after hitting .455 (5-for-11) in leading the Seminoles to wins over Mercer and the College of Charleston…registered a hit in all three games of the regional with two hits in the opening game against Mercer (May 29) and in the regional championship against the Cougars (June 1)…played summer ball with Anchorage Bucs in the Alaska Baseball League.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Crisp County High School in Cordele, Ga....First Team All-State as a junior and senior…Second Team All-State as a freshman and sophomore…First Team All-Region all four years and made Team Georgia as a junior…named the Ray Knight Player of the Year, given to the top player in Southwest Georgia…helped lead the Cougars to the Class 4A state championship series, where he hit a three-run home run in Game 1 while also pitching…went 4-2 with a 0.70 ERA his senior season…hit over .400 his final three years with the Cougars, including .458 as a junior and .437 as a senior…named to the President’s List all four years of high school, and winner of a University of Georgia scholar award.
