TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -  The 2014-15 Florida State men’s and women’s swimming and diving season schedule has been announced by head coach Frank Bradley on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The Seminoles will host a pair of home duals, while contesting in three away meets and three key invitationals before the ACC and NCAA Championships.

“We’ve built the 2014-15 schedule with championship season in the back of our minds,” Bradley said. “We’ve stacked three invites in the top half of the season, so we’ll have a good idea of what personnel we’ll have heading into the back portion of the year.”

The Seminoles will contest against three ACC schools this season, first traveling to Atlanta, Ga. for a tri-meet against Georgia Tech and NC State on Oct.25 before heading to Louisville to face the newest member of the of the conference in a two-day event (Jan. 9-10).

“We’ve set a trend with the tri-meet against NC State and Georgia Tech,” Bradley said. “This is the fourth year in a row the teams we’ll be competing and it’s always a great meet. We’re also excited to face Louisville. Both of their teams are traditionally ranked and it will be a great match up for us as we head into championship season.”

Florida State will host a pair of meets, first welcoming Florida Southern on Nov.7 at 10 a.m. before taking on Florida after the New Year on Jan.3. at 11 a.m.

The women’s team will close out the year with another two-day dual meet in Fort Myers, Fla. on Jan.30-31 against Florida Gulf Coast.

“January will give us plenty of opportunities to compete,” Bradley said. “We’re facing some of the best athletes and teams in the country and I think it will give us a great look as to where we match up nationally.”

In addition to the duals, Florida State will attend three invites, first kicking off the year with the All-Florida Invite (Oct.3-5), which will take place in Gainesville, Fla.  The Seminoles will then participate in the Georgia Tech Invite (Nov.21-23) before heading to Athens, Ga. for the Georgia Invite (Dec.5-7).

“These three meets with be a gauge to see what kind of team we have,” Bradley said. “We’ve decided to stack two invites around Thanksgiving this year because both of these meets will put us against some of the fastest swimmers in the country. Both from a swimming and diving standpoint, a majority of these athletes will qualify for the NCAA meets in March and that’s where we want to be so these meet will be an early test for us.”

The men’s and women’s ACC Championships will be held in Atlanta, Ga. at Georgia Tech over the course of two weeks. The women’s swimming and diving meet is scheduled for Feb.18-21, while the men’s swimming portion will take place from Feb. 25-28.

“Both ACC’s and NCAA’s is what we train for,” Bradley said. “We’ll have a pair of opportunities to compete in Georgia Tech’s pool before ACC’s so we’ll have that advantage, but really, we’re gearing to get as many as we can to the NCAA meet.”

Florida State will look to qualify athletes for the NCAA Championships in March, which will be held in Greensboro, N.C and Iowa City. The women’s meet will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and will run from March 19-21, while the men’s event is scheduled for March 26-28 and will be hosted by the University of Iowa.

Prior to the start of the season the teams will compete in the Garnet and Gold meet, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 26
