Charlie Hogan joined the Florida State Athletic Department in June 2012 and is the Academic Advisor for men’s basketball and women’s cross country. In January 2014 he was named Assistant Director for the department. In October of 2015 he was promoted to Associate Director of Student Athlete Academic Services. His duties include oversight of the class checking program and the Student-Athlete Academic Services Staff Internship program.
Hogan provides counseling and guidance to student-athletes regarding academic development as well as monitoring eligibility, advisement, and assisting in the recruitment of all prospective student-athletes.
Prior to coming to Florida State Hogan worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Wyoming, and Louisiana Tech University. He has worked as an academic advisor for a variety of sports including baseball, men's and women's basketball, football, men's and women's golf, women's cross country, women's track and field, men's and women's swimming and diving, and wrestling.
Hogan worked at ESPN 97.7 FM, one of the nation's largest all sports talk stations, for six years. There, he worked as play-by-play talent for collegiate and high school football, basketball, baseball, and softball broadcasts. Hogan also was an on-air producer for the Louisiana Tech, LSU, and Grambling State radio networks.
Hogan is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems in 2004 and a Master’s degree in industrial organizational psychology in 2007.
Hogan is an active member of the National Association of Athletic Advisors (N4A). A native of Choudrant, La., Hogan and his wife Jennifer have a son and a daughter - Ethan and Everly.
