Gwendolyn Davis is in her fifth season as the head athletic trainer for the Florida State men’s and women’s track & field teams, as well as the with the cross country program.
A seasoned professional, Davis has significant experience providing daily care, prevention and treatment of elite track & field athletes, while supervising a staff which includes two certified graduate assistant trainers and a host of athletic training students.

A native of Missouri City, Texas, Davis joined the Florida State staff in December 2011 after serving in the same capacity for the nationally-acclaimed Arkansas track & field programs from 2008-2011. In addition to attending to the Razorback student-athletes, Davis supervised two certified graduate assistants and numerous graduate student athletic trainers.

She is no stranger to the Atlantic Coast Conference, having worked with the Clemson cross country and track programs while in graduate school prior to joining the Arkansas staff.  Her duties included daily prevention, recognition, care and rehabilitation of injuries, in addition to supervising student training staff members. Davis began her collegiate career at Texas State University-San Marcos, where she worked with track & field, women’s basketball, football and volleyball, while also serving as a student assistant athletic trainer at San Marcos High School.

Davis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, with a major in athletic training. She eared her master’s degree in human resources development from Clemson in May 2008.

She is one of three children to Joe and Deborah Davis. She has a sister, Jozetta, and brother,Clifton.
