TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The third and final day of the 2014 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft came to a close on Saturday. Four more Seminoles were selected on day three bringing the final tally to eight Florida State baseball players selected in this year's draft. The mark tied for the second most players drafted by a college program in the nation and tied for the most in the Atlantic Coast Conference (Virginia).

Saturday's draft selections included Jose Brizuela (16th round, 492nd overall pick) by the Oakland Athletics, Gage Smith (25th round, 760th overall pick) by the Detroit Tigers, John Nogowski (34th round, 1032nd overall pick) by the Oakland Athletics and Bryant Holtmann (37th round, 1121st overall pick) by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Quoting the 2014 Florida State draft class:

Jose Brizuela, Jr., 3B - 16th round (492nd overall pick), Oakland Athletics
"I am extremely blessed to be drafted by the Oakland A's! I cannot wait to get started with the next stage of my life and career."

Gage Smith, Sr., RHP - 25th round (760th overall pick), Detroit Tigers
"I don't think anyone is happier than I am right now. This has been a dream of mine my whole life and honestly I didn't know it would ever happen. Believe it or not, 23-year old sidewinders aren't the most sought after guys in the draft, so I just thank God that he has given me the opportunity to continue my baseball career. And to be in the same organization as Scott (Sitz) and Devon (Travis) just makes me that much more excited. They are two of my best friends and I've heard nothing but good things from them about the Tigers organization. I can't wait to get started. The Mustache Mafia is back people!"

John Nogowski, Jr., 1B - 34th round (1032nd overall pick), Oakland Athletics
"I am completely humbled. It is such an honor and blessing. I have to thank my family for their support through the whole process. It's been a blast."

Bryant Holtmann, Jr., LHP - 37th round (1121st overall pick), Pittsburgh Pirates
"It means a lot to just hear my name called after I didn't get that chance my senior year of high school because I was hurt. It's an honor to be drafted by the Pirates and something I have worked for my whole life. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me."
