HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Florida State men's golf team finished the third round of the NCAA Championships with their best round of the event, a 3-over 283 to finish stroke play in 24th place with a 30-over 870. The Seminoles resumed the third round at 7:30 a.m. Central time at the Prairie Dunes Country Club after play was stopped Sunday night.

"We came back with a good round," said head coach Trey Jones. "The guys had good attitudes. We talk about finished every rep in the workout room and finishing every drill at practice. Hopefully that mentality carried over to finish every hole in this 54-hole tournament when our ultimate goal was not attainable going into the final round. I'm proud of them for that."

Every Seminole improved their second round score by at least two strokes. The top 15 teams finish the third round Monday afternoon beginning at noon. Final standings will be updated tonight.

"We have a lot of things to work on," continued Jones. "We've got to do some things that's going to prevent us from being in this situation next year. With four guys coming back we can do that, but we're all going to have to get better."

Florida State was 1-over on the day while being led by freshman Jack Maguire. Maguire started the day even par, but made four birdies to finish the day with a 3-under 67. He made a nine stroke improvement from the second round to finish the tournament with a 7-over 217.

Sophomore Hank Lebioda bounced back with his best round of the tournament with an even-par 70. Lebioda made a bogey on the first hole but regained control with a birdie on the fifth hole to finish at even par. He had the best final score for Seminoles in the three rounds with a 4-over 214.

Freshman Cristobal Del Solar started the morning on the 17th hole and carded two birdies on the front nine, two and seven. A bogey on his last hole, eight, placed him at 2-over on the day. He finished the tournament with a 5-over 215.

Despite starting the day at 1-under, sophomore Rowin Caron had a triple bogey and two straight bogeys to place him at 4-over on the round. He finished the tournament with a 14-over 224.

Senior Joaquin Lolas finished his collegiate career with a birdie on his last hole. He finished the round with a 4-over 74 and finished the tournament with a 16-over 226.
